We travel forty minutes here everytime we need a cake, the sponges have always been fresh and soft, and the customer service has always been great. Just went again and tried the vegetarian curry pie, loved it. This shop deserves nothing but praises.
Was suggested by my colleague for this best sponge cake place, but end up with great disappointment. First of all, the staff is present with a very unfriendly approach, which I never had experienced in any cake shop before. By her facial expression, I just felt like I am not welcome in here. Secondly, we were seeing the sign with yesterdays cake which labels $10, then ales the staff with the particular cake behind the sign. However, the staff packed up a different cake then changed us with the original price. When we asked the staff why, she said oh, there is no yesterdays cake, then we asked what about the sign, she just simply took the sign away without any explanations nor apologies. What an excellent hospitality experience! Regardless what the actual cakes taste like, just the experience we had today, I would recommend nobody to visit this place to experience such warm hospitality.BTW, as a local guide in Victoria for last couple years, this is my first one start rating ever. Wordless experience.
Very rude staff, the food not fresh at all, they are selling overnight cake as fresh cake.
Regular customers so disappointed that our individual slice and butterfly cake were put in the bag with little care...majority of top of slice and cream from butterfly cake stuck to top of bag! All very well having young teens serving but teach them to do it well or ruin your reputation with the small things.
Friend of mine bought over a sponge for dessert. We were both disappointed to see that there was more icing and cream than actual sponge. You could hardly see the sponge with the amount of cream that was filled in the cake, probably 4-5 centimeters of cream and only 1cm of sponge either side.
