In the space of two week we were fortunate enough to eat here twice. Each time, a sensational meal, outstanding service and amazing views. For those planning to visit, if they're still on the menu, I highly recommend you try the G & Y cocktail, tarama dip, spanner crab doughnuts and the blueberry dessert. Nonetheless everything on the menu is great. Can't go wrong.
Enjoyed it more than expected and I was already expecting it to be good. Was worth a day trip to anywhere from Melbourne.I want to write more but three are more experienced professional reviewers. Do yourself a favor and go Don't forget to do the potted yabby
Fantastic donuts! The whole experience was great, but the donuts for dessert were the best Light fluffy and perfectly matched with the chocolate sauce. Make sure you leave room.
I have been here for lunch several times now and won't hesitate to go back. Relaxed vibe with a lovely view, and the dishes which are mostly designed to be shared, have been thoroughly enjoyed on all occasions. It's a changing seasonal menu using great fresh produce. Very nice!
I really want to like Captain Moonlight - in theory it's great and just what we have been looking for in Anglesea - the food is good, the coffee not bad and the view and vibe are fantastic. BUT, every time I visit something happens that leaves me feeling frustrated and disappointed, namely the service. Once over the weekend, despite friends arriving 20 minutes prior to me, my coffee arrived first and when my friend innocently inquired about her coffee was met with a short, sharp tongued reply with no hint of an apology. Again, on another occasion I was rudely told that 'no I couldn't sit inside as it was set up for lunch' - this was not obvious, no reserved sign, no request to wait to be seated and a more friendly redirection would have been far better received. Whilst I understand that CM are trying to deliver a high dining quality service, they must remember to look after the locals, at present they don't seemed to have found the friendly welcoming balance that is inherit in a surf club location.
